fume cupboards

Laboratory ducted fume cupboards have been the mainstay of Fumair for the last 30 years. Right from inception, we were determined to provide a fume cupboard that would not only provide class-leading levels of containment and unsurpassed durability, but would be easy to use and aesthetically pleasing.

fume cupboards 1The latest models feature extra-large radiused corners for outstanding airflow performance.

Fully compliant with BS:7258 Parts 1-4 these fume cupboards provide some of the best containment levels in their class.

Designed and built to withstand the most rigorous of uses and conditions, Fumair fume cupboards are set apart by their unique GRP moulded chambers and fascias.

The GRP (glass reinforced polyester) panels are laminated by hand to produce a finish with the following advantages:

One-piece moulded. There are fewer joints and therefore less chance of leaks.
Superior resistance to chemical attack than more commonly used materials.
Wide-radiused corners for superior airflow characteristics, easy cleaning and decontamination.
Excellent fire-retardant properties.
Superior resistance to knocks and abrasions than more commonly used materials.
No visible fixings.
Very low maintenance and extremely long lasting.

A wide range of sizes and configurations are available, including walk-in fume cupboards. We will always be pleased to design and manufacture a bespoke fume cupboard to your specific requirements.

The inner chambers and worktops are available in a large choice of materials to best suit the application, including S316 grade fully welded and radiused stainless steel (for radioisotope fume cupboards), fully welded polypropylene, toughened glass, solid grade laminate, solid epoxy resin, ceramic etc.

For use with perchloric and hydrofluoric acid, fume cupboards can be supplied with integral wash or fume scrubber systems.
